Earl Brackin

Earl is a singer/songwriter who for the last 26 years has made his home in North Georgia. Growing up in the South, he was influenced by the music of his family as well as the tunes of the times. His dad was a woodwind specialist and a band director. His mom played piano, violin and cello. Earl’s earliest memories were of swing music and close vocal harmonies. He learned to play guitar as a means to accompany his singing but soon was captivated by the acoustic sound. As a writer, he draws from these varied musical influences.

Earl is also a storyteller. He draws you into the stories with his smooth voice and haunting rhythms as his fingers stroke the guitar. From golden maples flickering in the breeze to grits stuck in the lipstick of a sassy Southern belle, his lyrics are vivid with color and creativity.

His four recording projects explore the realm of the folk/Americanna style. Several of his songs have garnered recognition from the music industry. His love for hymns led him to record an acoustic interpretation of classic Appalachian melodies. The project is called “Anthem” and has been well received. His creative arrangements have given these timeless melodies a fresh Americana feel. His latest release is entitled “Flavors”. These 5 songs are some of his often requested at concerts.

As a performer, Earl most enjoys an environment where he can tell the stories that birthed his songs. However one of his favorite experiences was getting to take a bluegrass band to the Winter Olympics in Sochi Russia and play for the international audience gathered there.
