David Crawford

David Crawford is a multi-instrumentalist who is one of the founding members of Spatial Effects. In addition to singing and playing guitar with Spatial Effects, David serves as music director for the Sounds of Joy and he is the choir director for Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. He also performs with the Jericho Brass Band on alto horn, the Dalton Whitfield Community Band and the Mountain Echo Horn Quartet on french horn, and the Pleasant Groove Praise Band on bass and vocals. 

He has been selected twice for the IBMA World of Bluegrass Songwriters’ Showcase. In addition to penning original songs, David has written jingles for numerous companies and he was the winner of the 2008 WSM Springer Mountain Chicken Jingle Contest. He also co-wrote the two act southern musical comedy “Fat Shirley’s Trailer Park Opry,” with bandmate Tom Brown. The musical has been performed in numerous theaters throughout the Southeastern United States and has also toured extensively in the U.K.

One of his favorite musical adventures was posting “Pacobel’s Bedtime Canon” silly song about the experiences of raising children on Youtube. It garnered over a million three hundred thousand hits and led to a recording contract withSWC in Detroit, Michigan.
